Bullivantís tea rooms in York has been established for over 20 years and is housed in an historic building to boot! The tea rooms include a seating area upstairs, where the tables are laid with fine china and pretty floral tablecloths, along with a further seating area downstairs, with a magnificent display of tea pots and beautiful vintage china.
For most of the 18th century, Bullivantís was occupied by an English instrument maker, Thomas Haxby, whose keyboard instruments: pianos, harpsichords and organs were considered among the finest in the country. He was particularly known for making square pianos, of which he made between 24 and 36 a year.
Whilst the business is clearly very different today, hard work, attention to detail and customer care are still the watch-words for our team at Bullivant. The highest quality fresh meals and treats are served to customers every day, with home-made cakes, savoury dishes and meals being produced by our chefs in the kitchen downstairs.
A warm welcome, cleanliness, hygiene and efficiency all contribute to our reputation that puts us among the best tea rooms in York. Carolyn and her colleagues are genuinely delighted to meet and serve the customers from all over the world who visit us. Whether that visit is a one-off, or a regular treat, we aim to ensure that itís memorable and happy for all the right reasons.
